Yeah, Vacation

Being mauled by the puppies, may not be her high lite, however she loves it, and now are new puppies kennel is right next to her bed. She is a true animal lover.

A few high lites from our trip to St George, then San Diego, and a stop and sleep in Vegas on the way home. Some of the pictures speak for themselves, like who was good in the car? Wow, I adore all my children, however I was especially grateful to my Kate for not complaining once during our 24 hours of travel!

Haven't you always wanted to be a mermaid?

One more time mom, please? How can you resist?

Guess who is 4

Taylor finally had her birthday this week! She has been so dramatically excited. It began by Grandpa bringing her a new princess dress, which she has worn almost constantly since and a purple umbrella, which she has been asking for forever. Then her party.... then dinner with her other grandma and grandpa who brought her wonderful books, a purse and a wand. She was in heaven. What a day for her, although it ended as most long days do... poor Taylor was exausted. Oh, well it was worth it, right?

Taylor had a princess party, I think every 4 year old girl wants one. We had a great time, playing "princess, princess, queen" (duck, duck, goose), pin the princess in her tower, they learned to twirl and do princess things, they ate princess tarts and ran around the back yard. I also got Taylor a game called "Crocodile Dentist" That was the hit of the party! Who knew? Happy Birthday Taylor, and thanks to everyone who came and remembered her!

welcome

Today was our first day with TERRA. She is the newest member of our family, and fastest growing. Now, she probably equals Roxy in wieght, however, that will probably only last a few days. I think we have settled on a name, Terra. Terra in latin means "earth" I think. Anyway, in honor of her coming from St. George where the earth is red, and because she has red fur, it stuck. The kids like it, I like it, now lets see if she likes it enough to respond. All in good time right?

I can't believe I am so excited to have her. She is going to be huge. I know she is going to be tons of work, but I love it. I think I have officially turned into a dog person. That means anyone can change.

Introducing A Bull Mastiff

[IMG_2467.JPG]This is our new puppy. She is coming to our home next week sometime. She is a pup from Ryan's brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Audrey's Dog: Cleo. We have loved Cleo, she is the best dog and our children especially love her. Watching our children with the dogs have convinced us that we want to bring a new puppy to our home. Although this puppy will probably be bigger than Roxy upon delivery, I think Roxy will still be the Alpha Dog.

We are trying to think of some names for our new girl. Terra, Tess, Lyla, Chloe, her current name is Helga but we aren't going to stick with it. Jordan and Taylor want to name her after the dragon from Eragon: Saphira... I am not sure about that. Give a suggestion or two. I would love to hear your comment. Who knows, maybe you could name our dog!

Summer Fun

Roxy, Roxy, Roxy...

So, Taylor and Roxy sleep together every night. Roxy loves to snuggle with Taylor. That is nothing new. But, we have also had kittens, which you are all well aware, and recently she has become another mother to them. She licks them, carries them around the yard, it is all very cute.

So the other night, Ryan and I were making the rounds around the bedrooms to check on our children and showed me what Roxy had brought into Taylor's bed to snuggle. This is "cookie," "Snow," or "Snowie" or something else. This kitten was some how snuck into my house... I couldn't believe that Roxy brought this little animal in to sleep with her and Taylor. I thought it was sweet, but of course we took cookie outside, even though Roxy protested!

Grandma's Luau

An attempt to revisit a talent acquired in 3rd Grade

Every year on or around Memorial Day for as long as I can remember I have gotten together with my mother's side of the family to celebrate my Grandmother's Birthday. This year she wanted a Luau for her 85th. She is an amazing woman, ready to celebrate an accomplished life, rather than shy from her age. I want to be like her when I grow up. About 6 weeks ago we were in Partyland store and bought the lei's and grass skirts. Since that time Taylor and Jordan have asked many many times when the party would be. They were so excited to get ready, they kept asking how long it would take to get there. You would have thought it was Christmas. As we wound up the canyon they could hardly contain themselves, and about jumped out of their seats when they saw Grandma's house along with all the festivities. Thank you, Everyone, for having such a great party. The fun far exceeded my children's expectations, and they are still talking about it!
